UNESCO Tour (15 Days)

Day 1: Arrival to Iran/Tehran

  • Arrival to Iran and Tehran, the capital and business city of Iran, where you can find the most important government buildings of the modern period; besides these, it is home to many historical monuments, great museums and parks. Tehran has many stories for its visitors.  So, let's take some time to listen to them by visiting:
    • The National Jewelry Treasury. Home the Iranian Royal Jewelry.
    • Golestan Palace, the oldest historic monument in Tehran belonging to the Safavid dynasty and has seen many good and bad events during its life. Golestan Place was inscribed by UNESCO in 2013
    • Tabiat Bridge
  • Overnight Tehran.

Day 2: Tehran/Semnan/Damghan

  • In the morning drive to the southern parts of Alborz Mountain Foothills and Semnan town to Visit:
    • Darvazeh-E- Arg
    • Jame mosque
  • Then we will continue on our way to another city that is considered as one of the oldest cities of Iran which dates back to around 7000 years ago. It is Hecatompylos or Damghan. This city has many historical sites that the following ones are the important ones:
    • Jame mosque
    • Tarikhane
  • Overnight Damghan.

Day 3: Damghan/Shahrud/Bastam/Azadshahr/Minudasht

  • We will start by moving to Shahrud. Another small town that is famous for its fantastic Abr forest, then continue along the way to Bastam to visit:
    • Bayazid Bastami Tomb
    • Borj-e-kashane
    • Jame mosque
    • Then, Azadshahr and Minudasht.
  • Overnight Minudasht. 

Day 4: Minudasht/Gonbad-e- Kavous/Gorgan/Sari

  • In the morning drive to Kalaleh region to visit:
    • Great Wall of Gorgan (GWG), that based on Archeologist's belief, is 1000 years older than the Great Wall of China and longer than the walls of Hadrian and Antonine together.
  • After visiting that, we drive to Gonbad-e-Kavous to visit its only famous attraction that is inscribed as UNESCO world heritage site in 2012 .i.e.:
    • Gonbad-e Qabus tower
  • Then we drive to Gorgan spending some time in the beautiful national park of Nahar Khoran and continue our way to Sari.
  • Overnight Sari.

Day 5: Sari/Chalus/Ramsar 

  • Travel to Chalus
  • Ramsar
  • Overnight Ramsar.

Day 6: Ramsar/Bandar Anzali/Ardebil

  • Leaving Ramsar we will drive to Bandar Anzali.
    • It is said Anzali is the city of Iran with the most precipitation. With the Sea, meadows, ponds beside small and large ships and Dhow, altogether have made Anzali, a dreamy port. In this time we will visit:
      • Anzali Lagoon
      • Historical bridges
      • Polish cemetery
      • Military museum
      • Ghazaian bridge
      • Clock tower
      • Shah (king) palace
  • From here we will drive to Ardebil. En route we will take a short stop in Gisoon, a beautiful forest. Then continue on our way through the beautiful road of Asalem and Khalkhal.
    • Ardabil's name comes from Artavil that in Avesta means the holy place. 
  • Overnight Ardebil.

Day 7: Ardebil/Meshkin Shahr/Kaleybar

  • City tour of Ardabil to visit:
    • UNESCO world heritage site of Sheikh Safi-ad-Din Ardebili mausoleum
    • Ardebil jame mosque
    • Ardebil Traditional Bazaar
  • In this day, we will start our travel to another attraction destination of Iran and again along a really beautiful road. A stop in Meshkin Shahr or Meshgin Shahr to visit:
    • The tallest suspension bridge of the Middle East, which was built over Khiavchai River in 2015
    • The Shaykh Haydar tomb
  • Continue the way to Kaleybar.
  • Overnight Kaleybar.

Day 8: Kaleybar

  • Aside from all its natural highlights, there is just one historical attraction in kaleybar and it is:
    • Babak castle
      • It is located in 3 km of Kaleybar but due to its mountainous and meandrous road, approximately 3 hours for walking is required to reach the castle. The road opens its path through clouds and with a nice perspective of nomadic tents, it will provide you with an unforgettable trek. After you pass the path, you will see a building which is surrounded by huge walls. A historical fortress that had been the shelter and witness of a brave man i.e. Babak the son of Merdas.
  • Overnight Kaleybar.

Day 9: Kaleybar/Jolfa/Tabriz

  • In the morning we will drive to Tabriz along a road that isn’t very popular for tourists but worthy to be chosen since it will take us to a town located on the south edge of Aras River. Along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful Aras River since it is alongside of the road. Upon arrival there we will be visiting:
    • The famous Saint Stephan’s church that is inscribed as UNESCO site since 2008.
    • The Kurdish traditional bath
  • Continue our way to Tabriz
  • Overnight Tabriz.

Day 10: Tabriz

  • Full day city tour of Tabriz to visit:
    • Azerbaijan museum
    • Tabriz bazaar
      • It is one of the most important roofed bazaars in Iran and Asia due to its being located on The Silk Road. Also, it is the largest roofed bazaar of the world the registered in UNESCO in 2010.
    • Eil Goli
    • Amir Nezam or Qajar Museum
    • Blue mosque 
  • Overnight Tabriz.

Day 11: Tabriz/Kandovan/Zanjan

  • In the morning we will take an excursion to:
    • Kandovan rocky village
      • The houses of this village are manmade rocky dwellings that people still live in them.  Karaans of Cappadocia in turkey is the other only model of these houses in the world.
    • After visiting there, we will drive back to Tabriz and Zanjan, En route visiting one of the most beautiful and astonishing attractions on the ground that called:
      • Aladağlar
        • They are amazing colorful mountains that are definitely worth a visit.
  • Overnight Zanjan.

Day 12: Zanjan/Takht-e-Soleyman/Takab

  • A full day city tour of Zanjan to visit:
    • Rakhtshoikhane edifice
    • Zanjan bazaar
    • Saltmen museum
  • Then drive to Takab, Enroute visiting:
    • Takht-e-soleyman or Azar goshnasp fire temple
    • It is a large historical area that is located near Takab that belongs to Sassanid era. The complex includes:
      • a lake
      • a Zoroastrian fire temple
      • and a conical volcanic mountain with a big hole in them idle that is called the prison.
        • In the past, this mountain has been a temple in the Manayee era and for Zoroastrianism, a place for worship and and an alter. 
      • The complex was inscribed in UNESCO ON 2003.
  • Overnight Takab.

Day 13: Takab/Soltaniyeh/Qazvin

  • In the morning we will drive to Qazvin, En route visiting:
    • Soltaniyeh dome
      • This building is a UNESCO world heritage site and after Florence Cathedral and Hagia Sophia as the third biggest dome in the world. It is the mausoleum of Oljaytu, the 8th king of Ilkhanid dynasty.
  • Overnight Qazvin.

Day 14: Qazvin/Tehran

  • We have a half day city tour of Qazvin to visit:
    • Aminiha Mosque
    • Bist Sotoun
    • Anthropology Museum & Qajar Bathhouse
    • Sa'd-o-Saltaneh Caravanserai
  • Then we will drive to Tehran
  • Overnight Tehran.

Day 15: Tehran

  • We will visit some other places that are listed as must see attractions in Tehran such as:
    • The Saad Abad complex
    • National Museum of Iran
    • Glassware Museum of Tehran
    • Tehran Baazaar
  • Then transfer to International Airport for departure flight.
